The Takoma Park JazzFest announces the Jazz Band Brawl

The Takoma Park JazzFest announces its annual fundraiser, a band battle we call the “Jazz Band Brawl”. This competition will take place in the new Busboys and Poets Takoma, on Feb. 22. One of the three finalists will a showcase set at JazzFest 2015 (June 14), and will be paid $600 (more than we pay our local/regional performers). The competition is professionally judged by local jazz educators, jazz media, or record producers.

Entrants should send me cds, dvds, mp3s or a web page with your band’s music on it. Due to venue size, groups must be limited to 6 pieces, minimum 3.
