Dig into jazz and learn what it’s all about! This weeklong
camp is perfect for middle and high school students (rising 6th-12th graders)
interested in expanding their musical horizons by exploring jazz and
improvisation in a welcoming, coached environment.

Jazz Vocal Workshop

This workshop intensive is open to older teen and adult
vocalists of all backgrounds with an interest in jazz. Over three class
meetings, students receive coaching on jazz vocal styles, improvisation, jazz
theory, jazz repertoire, and ensemble skills. All ability levels are welcome,
regardless of previous experience singing jazz.

These small ensembles provide the opportunity for youth and
adult students of all levels and instruments to deepen their knowledge of jazz
and develop their skills in a group context. Students are placed in
age-appropriate ensembles based on instrument or voice, experience, and
availability.

Levine’s monthly jazz and blues jams are a great opportunity
for musicians of any age and proficiency to experience jazz from the inside. In
a fun and structured environment facilitated by Levine jazz faculty members,
musicians will get a chance to play and improvise on a couple well-known jazz
standards. In addition to facilitating the session, the Levine faculty will
also provide general instruction and specific guidance where necessary.

Jazz Piano Boot Camp

If you’ve always dreamed of learning how to play
your favorite jazz tunes on the piano, this class is for you! In this intense
two-week course, non-beginner students learn basic jazz theory, chords, and
notation skills and learn to apply them to the piano.
