Carla Bley, the Charlie Haden Liberation Music Orchestra
celebrates the life and music of bassist, composer, and NEA Jazz Master Charlie
Haden (1937-2014) with special guests Quartet West, Joe Lovano, and
Steve Swallow.
With his huge, resonant sound and unique phraseology, Grammy
Award® winner Charlie Haden was one of the most important jazz bassists of
his time and played prolifically with a large range of artists including Paul
Motian, Keith Jarrett, Ornette Coleman, Archie Shepp, and Alice Coltrane.
