Music on the Lawn, Thursdays in September

Since 2010 Grace Episcopal Church in lower Georgetown has invited neighbors far and near to come and enjoy great music and its beautiful gardens and grounds on Thursdays in September. We feature mostly jazz, with a few other genres mixed in from time to time. Join us; you can bring a picnic supper with libations, and there are food items, juices and soft drinks for sale. No charge, but we appreciate a donation of $10, more if you can, to support this popular community offering. Come anytime from 5:30 on, enjoy the cool-but-not-too-cool September evenings, listen to extraordinary music as the sun sets behind you. Dog Tag Bakery will have a concession on the grounds for each performance, with sandwiches, pastries and soft drinks available for purchase.

September 3: Yamomanem – New Orleans style, a big hit at their first performance on our grounds last year
September 10: Sandra Y. Johnson and friends – hard-swinging, bluesy vocals and instrumentals
September 17: Marshall Keys, sax and Herman Burney, bass – great musicians, longtime faithful friends of Grace
September 24: Cloudburst – vocalese a la Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Manhattan Transfer
