Tongue in Cheek
Tongue in Cheek is one of Maryland’s most popular gigging bands, focusing on traditional New Orleans jazz. Traditional, old time swing has become extremely popular in this region. Headed by bassist/banjo player Zach Serleth and vocalist Bridget Cimino, the band has helped create a scene, which sometimes includes dancing and always includes loads of fun. Many of the region’s finest musicians enjoy performing with this group. Whether they
perform for a sitting or hoofing audience, all are thoroughly entertained.
Often arriving in period costume, the musicians offer delightful listening
music, mostly written between 1910 and the mid-1930s. Audience members find
themselves singing along to songs they heard from grandma and grandpa and the
old time movies.
