Join a jazz group at Levine! Levine offers group classes, large and small ensembles for teens and adults, as well as private lessons in all instruments and voice. Fall semester ensembles and group classes begin September 15th – enroll today to secure your spot.
Jazz Combos (groups for teens and adults)
These small ensembles provide the opportunity for youth and adult students of all levels and instruments to deepen their knowledge of jazz and develop their skills in a group context. Learn More
Beginning Jazz Improvisation (ages 11-15)
This hands-on class helps students of all instruments develop the skills needed to improvise and perform in a jazz ensemble setting. Learn More
Jazz for Strings: Fundamentals of Improvisation (ages 12 to adult)
Designed as an introduction to jazz for strings players (violin, viola, cello, bass), this engaging class introduces strings students to the basics of improvisation, including blues, swing, and bebop. Learn More
Jazz Theory (ages 16 to adult)
Learn the fundamentals of jazz theory through analysis of charts and transcribed solos, original composition, and listening. Learn More
Latin Jazz Workshop (ages 16 to adult)
Ever been asked to play a Latin feel and not know what to do? Explore rhythms, styles, grooves, and melodies from and inspired by Cuba, Brazil, the Caribbean, West Africa, North Africa, and more. All instruments are welcome. Learn More
Jazz and Blues Jams (all ages)
Levine’s monthly jazz and blues jams are a great opportunity for musicians of any age and proficiency to experience jazz from the inside. In a fun and structured environment facilitated by Levine jazz faculty members, musicians will get a chance to play and improvise on a couple well-known jazz standards. Learn More
